The date this year is Thursday October 25th from 4pm – 7pm and senior pupils and their parents/carers are invited along to the Chancellors Hall in the main building at UWS Paisley to find out more about Higher Education
There will be a number of universities in attendance at the event and it will provide the young people of Renfrewshire and Inverclyde the chance to find out more about possible HE progression beyond school.

The British Airways applications for a January-March 2019 work experience placement in Engineering is now open, and will close at midnight on Wednesday 26th September 2018. The placements are 5 days long, and take place in school term time only. The programme is nationally accredited as Gold Standard by Fair Train, meaning that the placements we offer students are of the highest standard – they have over 25 departments that offer work experience placements. Placements are for year 10 students and above in secondary school or college.
If your application is successful, students will be invited to an interview day during October half term, as part of the ongoing employability strategy to support young people develop work readiness skills. On this interview day, youcan then declare which weeks they are available to do their placement.

There have been some changes to the process for getting work experience with the NHS. From now on there will be planned work experience programmes that candidates have to apply to get a place on. these dates will be updated on the web site below. Some are already up.

BAE Systems- Work Experience 2018/2019
BAE Systems Glasgow are offering School Work Experience to those looking to explore a career in engineering and start their career on an apprenticeship programme.
The week will run Monday to Friday from 8:30am until 4:00pm (with the exception of Fridaywhere there will be a 12:00pm finish). The work experience week will consist of an overview of our apprenticeship programmes, the industry and engineering. Time will be spend working within a workshop environment and all students will be asked to deliver a presentation at the end of their placement.
Each week will have up to 8 places available
Dates: 1st October 2018, 19th November 2018, 3rd December 2018 and 18th March 2019

Skills Development Scotland Exam results helpline is now open for any pupils that need advice now they have their results. The number is 0808 100 8000.
Norman King will be in to school this Thursday 9th August if any pupils need to speak to him.
Remember there are many roads that can lead to the same destination so don’t worry if results haven’t gone your way just get in touch with Norman and he can advise.
